Dhikr facts for kids
The Arabic word Dhikr means remembrance. Another word is Dhikrullah (remembrance of God). It is a special way for Muslims to remember God and feel closer to Him.
Dhikr is a type of worship in Islam. It means keeping God in your thoughts and heart. While all Muslims practice Dhikr, it is often done in groups by people called Sufis. Sufis are Muslims who focus on the spiritual side of Islam. Each Sufi group might have its own special way of doing Dhikr.
