Dialton is a small, quiet place located in Clark County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is known as an unincorporated community. The Story of Dialton's Beginning

Dialton started a long time ago, in the year 1851. Its early days were shaped by the building of a sawmill there. A sawmill is a special factory that cuts down large trees into useful pieces of wood, like planks and beams. This was very important back then for building homes and other structures.

How Dialton Got Its Name

The community of Dialton also had a post office. A post office is a place where people can send and receive letters and packages. The Dialton post office opened in 1865. It stayed open for many years, until 1901. The community was named after an important person called Judge Dial. He played a big part in helping the town get its own post office. Having a post office made it much easier for people in Dialton to communicate with others far away.
