The Town of Beetown is a small community in Grant County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 734 people lived there. Several smaller communities are part of the town, including Beetown, Diamond Grove, Five Points, Flora Fountain, Hurricane, and North Andover. The former community of Pleasant Ridge was also located in the town.

The Story Behind Beetown's Name

Beetown got its unique name from an interesting discovery. Long ago, a local settler named Cyrus Alexander found a huge block of lead. It weighed about 425 pounds (193 kg)! He found this lead under a tree where bees lived, often called a "bee tree." He called his discovery "bee lead," and over time, this name led to the town being called Beetown.
