Edvaldo Alves de Santa Rosa (born March 16, 1934 – died September 17, 2002), known to many as Dida, was a famous Brazilian football player. He played as an attacking midfielder or forward. Dida is remembered as one of the best players for the Brazilian club Flamengo.

Dida was born in Maceió, Alagoas, Brazil. He passed away in Rio de Janeiro when he was 68 years old.

A Football Star

Dida was an amazing football player. He was especially good at scoring goals. He is the second-highest goal scorer in the history of Flamengo. He scored an incredible 244 goals for the club!

Playing for Brazil

Dida also played for the Brazilian national team. He played in six international matches. He scored four goals for his country. One of his biggest achievements was being part of the team that won the 1958 FIFA World Cup in Sweden. This was a huge victory for Brazil!

After Retirement

After Dida stopped playing football professionally, he continued to work with Flamengo. For twenty years, he helped train the club's younger players. He shared his knowledge and passion for the game with the next generation of football stars.
