Starting with Alajuelense
Diego began his professional journey with a team called Alajuelense in Costa Rica. He played there for several years, from 2010 to 2013, showing his talent as a left-sided winger.
Playing in Europe
In March 2013, Diego moved to Europe to play for Vålerenga, a football club in Norway. He even played alongside another Costa Rican player, Giancarlo González, there. Later, in August 2014, he was loaned to IFK Göteborg, a team in Sweden, for a short period.
Returning to Costa Rica
