Diego Rodolfo Placente (born 24 April 1977) is a football manager from Argentina. He used to be a professional footballer who played as a left-back. Currently, he is the manager of the Argentina U20 national team.

Playing for Clubs
Diego Placente was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his professional football journey in 1996 with Argentinos Juniors. After that, he moved to the famous Argentine club River Plate in 1997.
In 2001, he joined the German club Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He played there until 2005. During his time at Leverkusen, he even played in the final match of the 2002 UEFA Champions League Final. After leaving Germany, he joined Celta de Vigo in Spain.
In 2008, Diego returned to Argentina to play for San Lorenzo de Almagro. Later that year, he moved to France to play for Bordeaux. He signed a two-year contract with them. After his contract ended, he went back to San Lorenzo. He also played for Nacional in Uruguay before finishing his playing career back at Argentinos Juniors.
Playing for His Country
Diego Placente also represented his country, Argentina. He played his first game for the Argentina national football team in 2001. Overall, he played 22 matches for the senior national team. Before that, he played for the Argentina Under-20 team.
