How Dindigul is Growing
The economy of Dindigul district is mostly based on farming and small industries. Many people work in agriculture, growing crops like rice, sugarcane, and cotton. There are also some factories that process these farm products.
In 2006, the Indian government recognized Dindigul as one of the areas that needed more help with development. Because of this, it receives special funding from a program called the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGF). This money helps to improve things like roads, schools, and healthcare in the district, making life better for the people who live there.
