Dispepsi is an album by an American band called Negativland. It came out on July 29, 1997. The band made this album to share their thoughts about big soft drink companies. They used lots of sounds from old commercials, especially Pepsi ads, to create their music. This style of music is sometimes called plunderphonics or sound collage.

About Dispepsi

This album was created to comment on the big competition between soft drink companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The name Dispepsi sounds like "dyspepsia," which is another word for indigestion or an upset stomach.

The actual word "Dispepsi" was not printed on the album cover at first. Instead, the band set up a phone number where people could call to find out the real title. The album cover showed scrambled versions of the title, like "Pedissip" or "Ideppiss." This was because the band thought they might get sued by Pepsi for using their name.

However, lawyers for Pepsi later said they had no plans to sue Negativland. After that, the band started using the real title, Dispepsi. If you look closely at the album's front artwork, you can still find the real title. The red letters on the cover, when read in order from largest to smallest, spell out "Dispepsi."
