Diving Machine G5 (that's "ダイビングマシンG5" in Japanese!) is an awesome steel roller coaster. You can find it at Janfusun Fancyworld in Gukeng, Taiwan. It's known as a "dive coaster" because of its super steep drop!
This exciting ride opened on March 29, 2000. It was built by a famous company called Bolliger & Mabillard, often called B&M. They're known for making some of the world's most thrilling roller coasters! Diving Machine G5 was one of the very first dive coasters ever built, and it's the only one of its kind in Taiwan.
Did you know it's like a twin to another famous roller coaster? Diving Machine G5 is a "mirror image" of Oblivion, a ride at Alton Towers in England. This means their tracks are exactly the same, just flipped around!
What's the Ride Like?
Get ready for an adventure! Your ride starts as the train slowly climbs a tall lift hill. It goes up about 65 feet (20 meters) into the sky.
Once you reach the top, the cars make a big turn, almost 180 degrees. Then, the train stops right at the edge of a huge drop! You'll hang there for a few seconds, looking straight down. It's a real heart-pounding moment!
Suddenly, you'll plunge down a massive 180-foot drop! This drop is almost completely straight down, at an amazing 87.5-degree angle. That's nearly vertical!
After the thrilling dive, you'll zoom back up at a fast speed. The track then takes you through a gentle curve, banking slightly. Finally, you'll slow down into the brake run, feeling the rush of an amazing ride!
