Divisaderos is a small town in the Mexican state of Sonora. It is the main town, or "municipal seat," of the Divisaderos Municipality. This means it's where the local government for the area is located.

You can get to Divisaderos by driving on a paved road from Moctezuma or Tepache. Most of the people who live in the Divisaderos area actually live right in the town itself. The town is located high up, at about 850 meters (2,789 feet) above sea level.

How People Live and Work

The way people make a living in Divisaderos is mainly through farming and raising animals.

Farming and Ranching

Many families grow crops like corn and beans, mostly to feed themselves. This is called "subsistence agriculture." They also raise cattle, which are cows and bulls. A big part of their economy comes from selling young cows, called calves, to the United States. This helps the local economy grow.
