Maria Johanna Meijsing (born October 21, 1947 – died January 30, 2012) was a famous Dutch writer. She wrote many novels. She won the AKO Literatuurprijs in 2000 for her book De tweede man. In 2008, she won the Ferdinand Bordewijk Prijs for her novel Over de liefde. Doeschka Meijsing was also the older sister of writer Geerten Meijsing and philosopher Monica Meijsing.

Doeschka Meijsing was born in a city called Eindhoven. This was on October 21, 1947. When she was three years old, her family moved. They went to live in Haarlem.
She went to the University of Amsterdam. There, she studied Dutch Language and Literature. From 1971 to 1976, Meijsing worked as a teacher. She taught at the St. Ignatius Gymnasium. After that, she worked at the University of Amsterdam. She was a research assistant until 1978.
In 1978, she started a new job. She became an editor for a literary section. This was for a well-known Dutch magazine called Vrij Nederland. Later, in 1989, she became a literary editor. This was for a big news magazine called Elsevier.
