Dokken is an American heavy metal band that started in 1978. They became very popular, selling over 10 million albums around the world. The band also had many songs that made it onto music charts and was even nominated for a Grammy Award!

The Story of Dokken

Dokken was formed in Los Angeles, California. The band quickly became known for its unique sound, which combined powerful guitar riffs with strong vocals. Their music helped define the hard rock and heavy metal scene of the 1980s.

Who Was in the Band?

The original members of Dokken were:

  • Don Dokken on vocals (he was also the founder of the band).
  • George Lynch playing lead guitar.
  • Juan Croucier on bass guitar.
  • "Wild" Mick Brown on drums.

In 1983, Juan Croucier left Dokken to join another band called Ratt. He was replaced by Jeff Pilson on bass.

Changes Over Time

Over the years, the band's lineup changed a few times. Today, Don Dokken and Mick Brown are still part of the band from the original members.

After George Lynch left, several guitarists played for Dokken. In 2004, Jon Levin, who was Dokken's attorney, stepped in to become the lead guitarist.

The bass guitar position also saw changes. In 2001, Barry Sparks took over from Jeff Pilson. Then, in 2009, Sean McNabb became the band's bass player. These changes helped Dokken keep making music and performing for their fans for many years.
