Dominika Banevič: A Breaking Star
Dominika Banevič, or B-Girl Nicka, is a young and very talented breakdancer. She was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. She has quickly become one of the best breakdancers in the world.
Starting Her Breaking Journey
Dominika started breakdancing in September 2015. She was only 8 years old! She attends the John Paul II Gymnasium in Vilnius, which is a Polish-language school. In 2021, she even took part in a sports event for Polish school youth.
Winning Big: World and European Titles
Dominika's hard work paid off in a big way. In 2023, when she was just 16, she became the world champion in breakdancing! This happened at a competition in Leuven. That same year, she also won the European Championships in Almeria. She has won the Lithuanian national championships four times.
Olympic Dream Comes True
Dominika represented Lithuania at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. This was a huge moment for her and her country. She competed in breakdancing and won a silver medal! This made her an Olympic medalist.
Back Home: A Hero's Welcome
When Dominika returned to Lithuania after the Olympics, she received a special welcome. A former president of the Lithuanian Golf Federation, Česlav Okinčic, gave her a new electric car. This gift was from the golf community and people from all backgrounds in Vilnius. It showed how proud everyone was of her achievements.
