What Was It About?
The main idea of Don't Just Sit There was to give kids awesome ideas for things to do. Instead of just watching TV, the show encouraged viewers to get up and be creative! This is why it was called "Don't Just Sit There."
Each episode featured different segments. These included showing how to make cool food or even taking apart everyday items, like a Nintendo game console, to see how they worked.
The show also had a house band called Out of Order. They played music for the show. Sometimes, they even got to sing and join in on the comedy sketches!
Who Was On It?
Many famous people visited Don't Just Sit There as guests. Some of these included Davy Jones, Mayim Bialik, Lou Diamond Phillips, Tami Erin, Downtown Julie Brown, Michael Palin, and William Shatner.
Other well-known guests were "Weird Al" Yankovic, Michael Richards, and the popular music group New Kids on the Block. Even Robert Englund, dressed as his famous character Freddy Krueger, appeared on the show! One of the first musical guests was the ska band Fishbone.
