Dong Hao (Chinese: 董浩; pinyin: Dǒng Hào; born 1956) is a famous Chinese host, actor, and painter. Many people know him by his friendly nickname, Uncle Dong Hao (Chinese: 董浩叔叔; pinyin: Dǒng Hào Shūshū).
He is well-known for hosting the popular TV show Big Pinwheel. He has also won important awards for his work. These include the Golden Mike Award in 2009 and the Flying Apsaras Award in 1987.
About Dong Hao
Dong Hao was born in Beijing, China, in 1956. His family originally came from Fengrun village in Tangshan city. His father, Dong Jingshan, was a famous Chinese calligrapher. When Dong Hao was four years old, his father passed away.
Dong Hao studied at Capital Normal University. After finishing his studies, he started working at the Beijing People's Broadcasting Corporation. This was a radio station in Beijing.
In 1990, he moved to China Central Television (CCTV). This is a very big TV network in China. He became a host for the popular children's show Big Pinwheel. On January 7, 2016, Dong Hao announced that he was retiring from his work.
