Early Life and Education
Donna was born in a place called Southey, Saskatchewan. She went to the University of Regina and earned a special degree in art in 1969. There, she learned from famous artists like Arthur McKay, Ted Godwin, and Doug Morton. She also took more art classes at Concordia University in 1970.
Her Art Career
Donna Kriekle also shared her artistic skills with others. She taught painting at the University of Regina from 1980 to 1989. She also taught art through the MacKenzie Art Gallery's special programs from 1984 to 1985.
One cool fact about Donna Kriekle's art is that it was featured on special collector coins! In 2015, the Royal Canadian Mint released a set of fine silver maple leaf coins. These coins celebrated the long reign of Queen Elizabeth II, and Donna Kriekle's artwork was part of their design.
