Doomsday is a made-up character who is a supervillain in American comic books. He appears in stories from DC Comics. Doomsday is one of Superman's biggest enemies.
He was first seen in 1992. His first full appearance was in the comic book Superman: The Man of Steel that same year. Doomsday is famous for being the character who "killed" Superman in the comics.
Who is Doomsday?
Doomsday is a very powerful and dangerous supervillain. He was created to be a huge physical challenge for Superman. He is known for his incredible strength and his ability to keep coming back stronger.
How Doomsday Was Created
The character Doomsday was created by writer and artist Dan Jurgens. Jurgens wanted to make a villain who could truly test Superman's strength. He wanted a bad guy who was just as strong as Superman, or even stronger.
IGN, a popular website about games and comics, put Doomsday on their list of the Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time. He was ranked as number 46.
Doomsday in Movies and TV Shows
Doomsday has also appeared in movies and TV shows. He was in the 2016 movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the movie, his voice and movements were done by Robin Atkin Downes.
Doomsday has also appeared in animated shows like Justice League Unlimited and live-action TV series like Smallville.
