The Dorchester Temple Baptist Church is a very old and important African American Baptist church located at 670 Washington Street in Boston, Massachusetts. Today, it is known as Global Ministries Christian Church. This historic building has been a special place for its community for many years.

A Look at the Church's History
The church building was designed in 1889 by a famous architect named Arthur H. Vinal. He used a unique building style called "shingle style," which was popular back then. This style often uses wooden shingles on the outside walls, making buildings look cozy and natural.
The church was built for a Baptist group that started in 1886. It is the oldest Baptist church building in the Dorchester area of Boston. This means it has seen a lot of history unfold!
Joining the National Register
Because of its importance and unique design, the Dorchester Temple Baptist Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. This is a special list of buildings, sites, and objects that are important in American history. Being on this list helps protect the building and recognize its value.
Surviving a Big Storm
In 1938, a very strong storm called the 1938 New England hurricane hit the area. The church building was damaged by the storm, but thankfully, it was repaired and brought back to its original beauty.
Reaching Out to the Community
The church has always found ways to connect with people. In January 2010, the church started a special media project called Boston Praise Radio. This radio station reached people all over North America through online streaming and satellite TV.
Later, in 2016, the church began broadcasting on its own local radio station, WBPG-LP 102.9 FM. This allowed them to share their message even more widely with the community.
