The Dornbirn District is a special area in Vorarlberg, Austria. It's like a county or region. This district covers about 172.7 square kilometers. In 2012, over 82,000 people called it home. The main office and center of the district is the city of Dornbirn.

Hohenems is quite special because it's the newest town in Vorarlberg to get its "town privileges." This happened in 1983. Getting town privileges means it was officially recognized as a town with certain rights.
