Later, while she was training and working in farming, she also went to evening high school. She kept improving her art skills through different courses and programs.

Dorothee Rätsch lives and works in Passentin, Germany. From 1994 to 1999, she helped create the Slavic Village Passentin. This village is a special place where people can learn about life in the early Middle Ages. Dorothee came up with the idea, planned it, and oversaw its building.
Working with children and young people has always been very important to her. She has led many art courses for them. She also created a beautiful sculpture garden next to her art studio.

Dorothee Rätsch creates small sculptures, medals, and figures. She also makes reliefs, which are sculptures that stick out from a flat surface. She uses materials like bronze, terracotta (a type of clay), and wood for her art.
