Dorothy Ada Lucy "Dal" Strutt (born May 18, 1941 – died June 14, 2019) was a talented English musician. She played many instruments, including the cello, piano, violin, and also sang. Dal Strutt was also a composer who taught herself how to create music. Sometimes, she used the name Dorian Carl Munday for her work.

Who Was Dal Strutt?

Dal Strutt was born in Essex, England. From a young age, she learned to play the cello, piano, and violin, and she also trained her voice. Even though she didn't go to a special school for composing, she became a professional musician.

Dal Strutt's Musical Career

Dal Strutt worked as a pianist for the Music Theatre at Morley College. She was also part of a music group called the Barnard-Strutt-Owen trio. Later, she joined another trio that combined music with other art forms, working with Malcolm Dedman and Martin Vishnick.

She often performed and gave talks in schools, sharing her love for music. From 2006 to 2009, Dal Strutt was a director at the Buddhist Society in London. She also led the London Gay Men’s Choir as their conductor.
