Doug Cox, born in 1952, is an American politician from the state of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Republican Party. Cox served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, which is like the state's law-making body. He represented the 5th district from 2004 to 2016.

Doug Cox went to Oklahoma State University and earned his first degree in 1974. Later, in 1978, he finished medical school at the University of Oklahoma. After becoming a doctor, he worked as an emergency room physician. This means he helped people who needed urgent medical care.

Doug Cox started his political journey in 2004. He was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives with more than half of the votes.
