Douglas Evans is an American author who writes books for children. He used to be a school teacher in Berkeley, California. Douglas Evans has created many stories, plays, songs, and poems for young readers.
One of his books, Classroom at the End of the Hall, received a special "starred review" from Publishers Weekly. This means it was highly praised by critics. The book was so popular that it was reprinted many times, which is a big achievement for a new author.
His book The Elevator Family (published in 2003) was recognized on the Massachusetts Book Award Master List. It was also nominated for the Sunshine Award in 2003.
