A House on the Move
One of the most amazing things about Dr Henry Pollen's House is that it moved! It was first built at 12 Boulcott Street. But in 1988, the house was carefully lifted by a giant crane. It was then moved to a new spot. This new location was at the corner of Boulcott Street and Willis Street.
The house was moved to make space for a much bigger building, the Majestic Centre. When it arrived at its new home, the house was also turned around. It was rotated about 90 degrees to fit perfectly on the new piece of land. Moving a whole house is a very tricky job!

After Dr Pollen passed away in 1918, the house changed hands many times. It was used for different things over the years. Sometimes it was a private home for families.
