History of Drayton
Drayton has had its own post office since 1904. The community got its name from an important historical figure, William Henry Drayton. He lived from 1742 to 1779. William Henry Drayton was a delegate from South Carolina. He helped represent the state in the Continental Congress. This was a group of leaders who played a big part in forming the United States.
