Andrea Donna de Matteo (born January 19, 1972) is an American actress. She is famous for playing Adriana La Cerva in the TV show The Sopranos (1999–2006). For this role, she won a special award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2004.
Drea de Matteo has also had important roles in other popular TV series. She played Gina Tribbiani on Joey (2004–2006), Wendy Case on Sons of Anarchy (2008–2014), Angie Bolen on Desperate Housewives (2009–2010), and Detective Tess Nazario on Shades of Blue (2016–2018).

Early Life and Education
Drea de Matteo was born in Whitestone, Queens, a part of New York City. Her mother, Donna, is a writer and teacher who helps people learn how to write plays. Her father, Albert, owned a company that made furniture.
Drea de Matteo comes from an Italian family and grew up in a Catholic home. After finishing at the Loyola School, she went to New York University. She studied film production at the Tisch School of the Arts, hoping to become a film director. She also took acting classes to improve her skills.
Acting Career Highlights
Drea de Matteo's role in The Sopranos really helped her career take off. She appeared in several movies, like Swordfish and Assault on Precinct 13. She also had a main role in the movie R Xmas, where she received good reviews for her acting.
In 2004, Drea de Matteo won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. This was for her role as Adriana in The Sopranos. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for the same role that year.
From 2004 to 2006, she played Gina Tribbiani, who was the sister of the main character, on the TV show Joey.
Drea de Matteo also played Wendy Case in the TV series Sons of Anarchy. She started in the first episode in 2008 and became a regular cast member for the show's last season.
She played Angie Bolen on season 6 of Desperate Housewives. She left the show in 2010.
In 2015, she played Krissi Cates in the movie Dark Places. Later, she was cast as Detective Tess Nazario in the TV drama Shades of Blue.
More recently, Drea de Matteo started hosting a podcast about The Sopranos with Chris Kushner. It was first called Made Women and then changed its name to Gangster Goddess Broad-Cast.
Personal Life
In 1997, Drea de Matteo opened a clothing store called Filth Mart with her boyfriend, Michael Sportes. They closed the store in 2004.
She began dating musician Shooter Jennings in 2001. They got engaged in 2009 and have two children together. However, they later ended their relationship without getting married. In 2015, Drea de Matteo became engaged to Michael Devin, who is a bass guitarist for the band Whitesnake.
In 2015, Drea de Matteo lost her apartment in Manhattan due to a gas explosion and fire. She had lived there for 22 years.
