Drivers Hill is a very important natural spot. It's officially known as a "Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II." This means it's a valuable place for plants and animals in the local area.

Who Owns Drivers Hill?

The land at Drivers Hill is owned by the Jehovah's Witnesses. They built their main office for the country there in 1955. This building is called Watch Tower House. It's a big printing place where they print many magazines and books. In 2002, they printed 120 million items there!

What Can You Find at Drivers Hill?

Drivers Hill has different types of natural spaces. It includes several open fields and two smaller woods.

• The Fields: These fields are like old pastures. They have special kinds of flowers that grow well in such places. You might find plants like Crested dog's tail, which is a type of grass, or lady's bedstraw, which has tiny yellow flowers. You can also spot oval sedge, another interesting plant.

• The Woods:
  • Wentworth Hall Wood: The bigger wood is in the northern part of Drivers Hill. It's called Wentworth Hall Wood. The main trees you'll see here are pedunculate oak and ash trees. These trees grow very tall and provide a lot of shade.
  • South-West Wood: The other wood is in the south-west corner of the area. This wood also has many oak trees. You'll also find sycamore trees growing there.

Can You Visit Drivers Hill?

Drivers Hill is a private property, so there is no public access. This means people cannot walk freely through the fields or woods. However, you can still see parts of this beautiful area from nearby spots.

• You can view the fields from the very end of Woodcote Avenue.
• The south-west wood can be seen from Milespit Hill and also from the Mill Hill Cemetery.
