Dunbar is a small place, not an official city, located in Houston County, Georgia, in the United States. It's found in the very northwest part of Houston County. You can find it about one mile east of U.S. Route 41, right where Dunbar Road and Houston Lake Road meet. Dunbar is also part of the larger Warner Robins, Georgia area.

What is Dunbar's History?
The community of Dunbar has been around for a long time. It first appeared on official Georgia maps in 1915. The area gets its name from the Dunbar family. This family used to own a lot of the land nearby.
Dunbar has never been an official city with its own government. It's not even shown on most maps as a community. However, you can still see signs that say "Dunbar Community" when you are there.
Businesses in Dunbar
Today, the only business in Dunbar is a store called Holiday Food Store. People often call it "The Corner Store." This store sells gasoline for cars and groceries for people.
There used to be another business called Crossroads Trading Post. It was right across from the Holiday Food Store. This trading post closed more than ten years ago. The building is still there, but it is now just used for storage.
