History of Dungannon
Dungannon was first planned and started in the year 1856. This was when the community was "laid out," meaning its streets and lots were designed.
For many years, Dungannon had its own post office. This post office was called Ridge. It helped people send and receive mail in the area. The Ridge post office opened in 1867. It served the community for a long time. However, it eventually closed its doors in 1904.
