Dutton Park Farm Nature Reserve is a special place in Cheshire, England. It's a nature reserve that covers about 18 hectares (that's like 44 football fields!). This amazing area is looked after by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, working with the Woodland Trust. It's a fantastic spot for wildlife and people to enjoy nature.

What Makes Dutton Park Farm Special?

This nature reserve is located near the impressive Dutton Viaduct, a very old and important bridge. The land itself has a cool history. Many of the pools and ponds you see here are actually old parts of the River Weaver. The river changed its path a long time ago, leaving these watery spots behind.

Home for Amazing Animals

Dutton Park Farm is a busy place for many different animals.

Birds of Prey

You might spot some powerful birds flying high above.

• Peregrine falcons sometimes use the tall Dutton Viaduct as a perfect lookout point. They are super fast hunters!
• Kestrels and buzzards are also regular visitors. These birds of prey are always on the hunt for their next meal.

Wildlife in the Water

The reserve has many ponds and pools. To help water creatures thrive, fish have been removed from these ponds. This allows other aquatic wildlife, like insects and amphibians, to grow and flourish without being eaten by fish.

Meadow Marvels

The reserve has beautiful wildflower meadows. These meadows are kept healthy by Longhorn cattle that graze there regularly. Their grazing helps new wildflowers grow and keeps the habitat just right for many insects and small animals.

Summer Bird Visitors

When summer arrives, many birds travel long distances to visit Dutton Park Farm. The bushy areas along the edge of the reserve are perfect homes for these summer guests.

These birds come here to nest and raise their young before flying south again for the winter.
