Dwayne L. Polee Sr. (born March 2, 1963) is an American who used to play and coach basketball. He is currently the director of player development at the University of San Francisco. He started this role in 2012.

Before that, he worked at the University of Southern California. From 2007 to 2010, he was the director of basketball operations there. Polee finished high school at Manual Arts High School in 1981. He first went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In 1982, he moved to Pepperdine University.

Dwayne Polee's Basketball Journey

Dwayne Polee was chosen in the third round of the 1986 NBA draft. The Los Angeles Clippers picked him as the 54th player overall. He played one game with the Clippers during the 1986–87 season.

After playing in the NBA, he played basketball in Mexico. He played for a team called Limoneros de Colima from 1989 to 1991. After he stopped playing, Polee became an assistant coach. He coached at Los Angeles Southwest College during the 2000–01 season.

High School Basketball Star

Dwayne Polee was a very talented player in high school. He was 6 feet 5 inches tall and played as a swingman. In 1981, he was named the Los Angeles City Section Player of the Year. This award was given while he was at Manual Arts High School.

A Record-Breaking Game

Polee had an amazing game in the City championship. He scored 43 points in Manual Arts' 82–69 win. They played against Crenshaw High School. The game was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. There were 14,123 people watching. This was the largest crowd ever for a city championship game.

College and Professional Career

Dwayne Polee played college basketball at two different universities. He started at UNLV for one year. Then he transferred to Pepperdine. He played for Pepperdine from 1983 to 1986.

While at Pepperdine, he earned several awards. He was named the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year twice. This happened in both 1985 and 1986. He was also part of the First-team All-WCAC in those same years. In 1981, he was a Third-team Parade All-American. He was also named California Mr. Basketball in 1981.

A Family of Basketball Stars

Dwayne Polee's son, Dwayne Jr., also became a basketball star. In 2010, Dwayne Jr. won the Los Angeles City Section Player of the Year award. He played for Westchester High School.

This made them the second father-son pair to win this special award. Dwayne Jr. later played college basketball for San Diego State.
