Dwayne Simpson's Football Journey
Dwayne started his football journey with the East Fremantle team in the WAFL. He was chosen by the Sydney Swans in the 1998 AFL Draft. This "draft" is like a special selection process where professional teams pick new players. Even though he was drafted by the Swans, he didn't play any official games for them.
At the end of the 2000 season, Dwayne was "traded" back to Western Australia. A trade means one team exchanges a player for something else, like another player or a pick in the draft. He joined the Fremantle Dockers. He played two games for the Dockers in 2001. After that season, he was no longer part of the team.
Family Connection
Dwayne Simpson grew up in a place called Mullewa, which is in the Mid West region of Western Australia. He has a famous uncle, Ernie Dingo, who is a well-known Australian actor.
