About Dóttir: A Taste of Iceland in Portland

Dóttir means "daughter" in Icelandic. This restaurant was quite large, covering about 3,500 square feet. It was located on the ground floor of the KEX Hotel on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

What Kind of Food Did Dóttir Serve?

Dóttir offered a unique mix of flavors. Its menu combined traditional Icelandic and Nordic dishes with fresh ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. This made for a special dining experience.

When Did Dóttir Open and Close?

The restaurant first opened its doors in 2019. Ólafur Ágústsson and Alex Jackson were important chefs who helped create the menu.

In January 2020, Dóttir started serving brunch, which is a meal eaten in the late morning. Like many places, the restaurant had to close for a while during the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened in mid-2021 with a new chef, Michael Zeman. However, Dóttir eventually closed for good on January 1, 2022.
