History of the Castle
The Clan Cumming, a powerful family from Altyr, built Earnside Castle. They finished building it around the year 1450. This means the castle is over 570 years old!
What's Left Today?
Sadly, there isn't much left of Earnside Castle to see today. You won't find any big walls or towers standing. However, if you look from above, like in an aerial photo, you might spot a large, long mark on the ground. This mark, called a cropmark, might show where the castle once stood. It's like a faint outline in the fields.
