Easter Clune Castle facts for kids
Easter Clune Castle is a very old ruined castle, built way back in the 1500s. It's a type of building called a 'tower house,' which was a strong home used for defense. You can find its remains about 6 miles (10 km) southwest of a town called Banchory in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It's also located south of the Water of Feugh, which is a river.

The Story of Easter Clune Castle
Historians believe that Easter Clune Castle was built by an important church leader. It was either Archbishop James Stewart or Archbishop Ross. Castles like this were often built by powerful families or church figures. They used them as their homes and to protect their lands.
What's Left of the Castle Today?
Sadly, not much of Easter Clune Castle remains standing. You can only see about 2 meters (6.5 feet) of what used to be the southeast corner of the building. Even though it's just a small part, you can still get an idea of how strong it once was. The walls that are left are about 4.5 meters (15 feet) high and 1.2 meters (4 feet) thick. These thick walls show how well-built these tower houses were for defense.
