Eastridge Mall is a fun place to shop in Casper, Wyoming. It's a large, single-story shopping center with many different stores. You can find it at one of the busiest intersections in the city. Eastridge Mall is special because it's one of only three big shopping malls in the entire state of Wyoming!
The mall has several large stores that are called "anchor stores." These big stores help attract lots of shoppers to the mall. Some of the main anchor stores at Eastridge Mall include Target, JCPenney, Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, and Bed Bath & Beyond.
Mall History: What Happened Over Time?
Eastridge Mall first opened its doors on October 13, 1982. When it first opened, some of its main stores were JCPenney, Sears, and Target. A little later, in early 1983, another big store called The Bon Marché joined the mall.
Changes to Stores Over the Years
In 2005, The Bon Marché store changed its name and became a Macy's store. This was exciting for shoppers!
A few years later, in 2014, a new restaurant called Hibachi Sushi and Supreme Buffet opened inside the mall. It offered a new dining option for visitors.
In 2017, the children's clothing store Gymboree closed its location at the mall.
More changes happened in 2018. On October 15, 2018, it was announced that the Sears store would be closing. It was part of a bigger plan to close many Sears stores across the country. The Sears store at Eastridge Mall closed in late December 2018. This was the very last full-size Sears store left in Wyoming.
Then, on December 31, 2018, it was announced that the Macy's store would also be closing in early 2019. This was the only Macy's store in Wyoming, so its closure meant there were no Macy's stores left in the state.
