The Eaton Site is a very important archeological site located in West Seneca, New York. An archaeological site is a place where scientists, called archaeologists, dig up old objects and clues. These clues help us understand how people lived many years ago.

A Journey Through Time at the Eaton Site

Very Ancient Campsites
The oldest discoveries at the Eaton Site are from the Early Archaic period, around 8,000 BC. This was a time when people lived by hunting animals and gathering plants. They moved around a lot, setting up small camps for a short time.
Archaeologists found tools and other items from these early groups. These findings help us learn about their daily lives. The site also has traces from the Late Woodland period, around 1,200 AD.
An Iroquoian Village Home
One of the most exciting finds at the Eaton Site is an Iroquoian village. This village dates back to about 1550 AD. The Iroquois were a group of Native American people. They built settled villages and lived in longhouses.

Later History of the Land
