Echlin Molyneux (born around 1800 – died 1886) was an important Irish lawyer and judge. He worked as a senior lawyer, a judge in Meath, and a professor at law schools. Early Life and Career
Echlin Molyneux was the only son of James Molyneux and Anne Hathorne. He grew up and spent many years living in Bray, County Wicklow, a town in Ireland. He became a lawyer, which means he was trained to help people with legal problems and represent them in court.
He taught law at the Dublin Law Institute. This was a place where people could learn to become lawyers. Later, he moved to Queen's University Belfast and became a professor there. He even became the dean of the law faculty, which means he was in charge of the law department. He worked hard to improve how lawyers were trained and educated.
Life as a Judge
Besides teaching, Echlin Molyneux also served as a judge. He was a County Judge for County Meath, which meant he made important legal decisions for that area. He also became a "Queen's Counsel," a special title for very experienced lawyers who advise the Queen (or King). His work helped make sure that legal practices in Ireland were fair and followed high standards.
Later Years
After a long and successful career, Echlin Molyneux retired. He moved to Bournemouth, a town in England, where he lived out his final years. He passed away in 1886.

- His first wife was Mary Napier. They married in 1828 and had one son named James Henry Molyneux. Mary Napier was also the sister of Sir Joseph Napier, who became a very important judge in Ireland, known as the Lord Chancellor.
- His second wife was Mary Osborne. With her, he had two daughters, Melinda and Elizabeth, and another son, Echlin.
- His third wife was Hannah Moore. They had two sons, Frederick and Evans, and one daughter, Sarah Frances.
