His Poetry
How He Writes
Ed Roberts mainly writes his poems in a style called free verse. This means his poems do not always have a regular beat, rhyming words, or repeating sounds. Roberts believes this style helps his poems be understood better in different languages. His writing is also shaped by his background from Oklahoma and his Cherokee heritage. One of his poems was even translated into the Cherokee language for a book called Amaravati Poetic Prism 2019.
Where His Poems Appear
Ed Roberts has shared his poetry and given talks at schools, universities, and poetry events. In 2005, he was one of ten writers who represented the United States at the Odyssey International Festival in Amman, Jordan. He also helps lead the Poetry Society of Oklahoma. Roberts has written ten collections of his own poems. His poems have also been featured in magazines like The Poetic Voices Magazine and The Poetry Sharings Journal.
