Edgewood is a small, unincorporated community located in the southeastern part of Pike County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
This community is found right on Missouri Route WW, about half a mile east of the larger US Route 61. If you travel about 4.5 miles southeast along Route 61, you'll reach the town of Eolia.

Edgewood has a simple but interesting history. The community got its name because of its location. The very first people who settled there built their homes right at the edge of a large forest. This is how the name "Edgewood" came to be!
