Sir Edgeworth Beresford David (born 12 June 1908 – died 15 May 1965) was an important British government official. He worked in countries that were part of the British Empire. He was given special awards for his service, like the KBE and the CMG.
Sir Edgeworth started his career in 1930 as a young trainee. He worked for the British government department that managed its colonies. He later became a very important leader in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
He served as the Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong from 1955 to 1957. This role was like being a top manager for the government. He was also the last Chief Secretary of Singapore from 1958 to 1959.
For a short time in 1957, he was the Administrator of Hong Kong. This happened after the previous leader, Sir Alexander Grantham, left. Sir Edgeworth held the position until Sir Robert Black became the new Governor.
