The Story of Edinburg: How It Began
Edinburg started a long time ago. In 1841, a post office was opened there. A post office is where people could send and receive letters and packages. This first post office in Edinburg stayed open for about four years, closing in 1845.
The community got its name from a famous city far away: Edinburgh, which is the capital city of Scotland. The person who surveyed the land for Edinburg had family roots in Scotland, and he decided to name this new place after his ancestral home.
