About Edith Carr

Her Art Training

Edith loved art and decided to study it seriously. She first attended the Croydon School of Art. Later, she traveled to Paris, France, to study at the Académie Delécluse. There, she learned from a famous artist named Georges Callot.

Showing Her Art

Edith Carr became a skilled painter of both portraits and miniatures. She showed her artwork in many important places. She exhibited about twenty of her paintings at the famous Royal Academy in London. This is a big achievement for an artist!

She was also a member of the Royal Miniature Society, which is a group for artists who specialize in tiny, detailed paintings. Edith also showed her work with the Society of Women Artists. She even exhibited her art at the prestigious Paris Salon in France many times between 1907 and 1943. This shows she was a well-recognized artist for many years.
