Edith Farnadi (born September 25, 1921 – died December 12 or 14, 1973) was a talented Hungarian pianist. She was known for her amazing musical skills from a very young age.

Early Life and Amazing Talent

Edith Farnadi was born in Budapest, Hungary. She started learning music at just 7 years old. She went to the famous Franz Liszt Academy of Music. Her teacher was Professor Arnold Székely, who also taught another famous pianist, Louis Kentner.

Edith showed her musical gifts very early. When she was only 9, she performed for the first time as a child prodigy. This means she was incredibly skilled for her age. By the time she was 12, she played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1. What's even more impressive is that she led the orchestra herself while playing the piano!

Education and Becoming a Professor

Edith finished her studies at the Music Academy in Budapest when she was 17. During her time there, she won the important Franz Liszt Prize not just once, but twice! This award is a big honor for musicians in Hungary.

After graduating, Edith became a professor at the Budapest Franz Liszt Academy. She taught there until 1942, sharing her knowledge with new students.

Concerts and Recordings

In the 1950s, Edith Farnadi traveled all over Europe. She performed many concerts, showing her piano skills to audiences everywhere. She also made recordings with a company called Westminster. These recordings helped more people hear her beautiful music.

Edith often played with other musicians. She was a steady musical partner with the great Hungarian violinist Jenő Hubay when she was still a student. She also performed many times with another famous violinist, Bronisław Huberman, at musical events in Budapest.
