Edmond Dwayne Jordan (born in June 1971) is an American lawyer and politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He serves in the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 29. In May 2016, he won a special election to become a state representative. He took over the seat from fellow Democrat Ronnie Edwards.

Who is Edmond Jordan?
His Early Life and Career
Edmond Jordan grew up in Brusly, Louisiana. He went to Brusly High School. Later, he studied at Southern University and the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. These are both historically black colleges.
He became a lawyer in 1998. Since then, he has worked for different government groups. These include the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. He also worked for the United States Department of Homeland Security. Besides his law career, he co-owns an insurance company called Cypress Insurance Agency.
Edmond Jordan is married to Stacie, and they have two children, Jailen and Jace.
His Political Journey
Edmond Jordan is a Democrat. He first ran for the Louisiana House of Representatives in November 2015. He lost that election to Ronnie Edwards.
However, a special election was held in April 2016 to choose a new representative. This was because Ronnie Edwards left the position. In this special election, Edmond Jordan ran again. He won the second round of voting against another Democrat, Vereta Tanner Lee. Jordan received 2,019 votes (59.6 percent) to Lee's 1,368 votes (40.4 percent).
During his 2015 campaign, Jordan talked about improving Louisiana's state budget. He wanted to make sure the budget helped create opportunities for people. He also focused on bringing businesses to District 29. He aimed to help the district grow and become stronger. After he won, Governor John Bel Edwards congratulated him.
Helping the Alton Sterling Family
Edmond Jordan has also worked as a lawyer and spokesperson for the family of Alton Sterling. Alton Sterling was a Black man who was shot by police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Jordan helped represent the family during this difficult time.
