Eduard "Edi" Bauer was a famous Austrian football player and coach. He was born on February 13, 1894, in Vienna, Austria. Edi Bauer was known for being a great striker, scoring many goals for his team, SK Rapid Wien. He also played for and later coached the Austrian national football team. He passed away in 1948.

His Time as a Player
Edi Bauer spent most of his playing career with SK Rapid Wien, a well-known football club in Austria. From 1911 to 1928, he was a key player. He played as a striker, which means his main job was to score goals for his team! He was very good at it.
He also proudly represented his country. Edi Bauer played for the Austrian national football team from 1912 to 1921. Being chosen to play for your country is a huge honor for any athlete.
From Player to Coach
After his successful playing days, Edi Bauer became a football coach. He coached his former club, SK Rapid Wien, at different times. His first coaching period there was from 1926 to 1936.

- In 1928, he reached the final of the Mitropacup, which was a big European club competition at the time.
- Edi Bauer was also the best scorer in the league twice, in 1917 and 1918. This means he scored more goals than any other player in those seasons!
As a Coach
- As a coach, he led SK Rapid Wien to win the Austrian Championship 3 times: in 1929, 1930, and 1935.
- He also coached them to win the Austrian Cup in 1927.
- In 1930, he coached his team to win the Mitropacup, a major international trophy. This was a huge achievement!
