General Edward Frederick (born June 23, 1784 – died December 5, 1866) was an important officer in the British Indian Army. He held a high position called Commissary General of the Bombay Army.

Edward Frederick came from a family of military leaders. His father, Charles Frederick, was also a Colonel. Edward was the oldest son in his family.
He followed his father's footsteps and joined the British East India Company. This company was very powerful and played a big role in India at the time.
Edward Frederick was recognized for his service. In 1838, he received a special award called the Order of the Bath. This award is given for excellent military service.
He continued to rise through the ranks. In 1860, he was promoted to the rank of General, which is a very high military position.
General Frederick passed away in 1866 in Winchester, England.
His Family and Legacy
Edward Frederick was married twice. His first wife was Selina Grote. They did not have any children.
After Selina passed away, he married Mary St John in 1841. They had a son named Charles. This son later inherited a special family title, becoming the 7th Baronet.
Edward Frederick's grandson, Sir Edward Frederick, 9th Baronet, also became an Army officer. He was also known for being a first-class cricketer.
