Eduard Marian Ilie (born on June 29, 1986) is a talented Romanian musician. He is better known by his stage name, Edward Maya. He is a record producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. Edward Maya is famous for his huge hit song "Stereo Love", which came out in 2009.

Edward Maya's Music Journey
Edward Maya started his music career around 2006. He worked with many other Romanian artists, like Akcent and Vika Jigulina. He also helped create the song "Tornerò". This song was performed by Mihai Trăistariu in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Edward Maya has said that this song was the real start of his career.
The Hit Song "Stereo Love"
In the summer of 2009, Edward Maya released his very first song as a main artist. It was called "Stereo Love". This song quickly became very popular in Romania. Soon after, "Stereo Love" became a massive hit in clubs all over the world.
The song reached the top 5 charts in many countries. These included Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, and the UK. "Stereo Love" has been watched over 629 million times on YouTube as of August 2024. This shows how popular it is!
New Music and Record Label
On May 13, 2010, Edward Maya released his second single, "This Is My Life". To have more control over his music, he started his own record label. It is called Mayavin Records. This label also helps other new artists.
Edward Maya then released his third single, "Desert Rain". The music video for this song came out on Christmas night around the world. He later went on a "Desert Rain" tour. He visited places like India, Europe, the US, South Africa, and Pakistan. His fourth single, "Mono in Love", was released in November 2012. It also featured Vika Jigulina.
Edward Maya studied music at the George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest. He also studied at the Bucharest Conservatory.
He even used his voice for a movie! Edward Maya was chosen to dub the voice of Grug in the animated film Onward.
