Eduard Marian Ilie (born on June 29, 1986), known by his stage name Edward Maya, is a musician, record producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter from Romania. He is famous for his very popular song "Stereo Love", which came out in 2009.

Edward Maya's Music Journey
Early Career and First Big Hit
Around 2006, Edward Maya worked with many other Romanian artists. He also helped create the song "Tornerò". This song was performed by Mihai Trăistariu in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Maya said in an interview that this song was the start of his career.
In the summer of 2009, Maya released his first song as an artist, called "Stereo Love". This song quickly became very popular in Romania, reaching number 2 on the music charts there. Later that year, "Stereo Love" became a huge international hit in clubs all over the world.
Global Success and New Music
After the success of "Stereo Love", Edward Maya performed many concerts worldwide. The song became one of the top 5 songs in many countries. These included Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
On May 13, 2010, Maya released his second song, "This Is My Life". To have more control over his music and to help other artists, Maya started his own music company called Mayavin Records.
He released his third song and music video, "Desert Rain", on Christmas night around the world. Maya talked about his "Desert Rain" tour, saying he would perform in India, Europe, the US, South Africa, and Pakistan. His fourth song, "Mono in Love", came out on November 29, 2012. It also featured Vika Jigulina.
Education and Other Work
Edward Maya studied at the George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest. He also studied at the Bucharest Conservatory.
Maya was chosen to be the voice of the character Grug in the animated movie Onward.
