Edward Rich, 6th Earl of Warwick (born around 1673 – died July 31, 1701) was an important English noble and a leader in his time. Before he became an Earl, he was known as Lord Rich until 1675.

Edward Rich was the son of Robert Rich, who was the 5th Earl of Warwick and 2nd Earl of Holland. His father lived from 1620 to 1675.
Becoming an Earl
In 1675, when his father passed away, Edward took on his father's important titles. This meant he became the 6th Earl of Warwick.
A Notable Event
In 1699, Edward Rich was involved in a serious incident with his friend, Charles Mohun, 4th Baron Mohun. This event led to a trial. Edward was found responsible for what happened, but because he was a noble, he used his special rights as a peer to avoid a harsh punishment. In those days, it was common for juries to be less strict in such cases involving nobles.
Family Life
In early 1697, Edward Rich married a woman named Charlotte Myddelton. She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Myddelton, 2nd Baronet.

Edward and Charlotte had one son together:

After Edward Rich passed away, his wife Charlotte later married a very famous writer named Joseph Addison.
Later Years
Edward Rich died in 1701. After his death, his son, Edward Rich, 7th Earl of Warwick, took over his titles and became the next Earl.
