Edward Robins (born March 2, 1862 – died May 22, 1943) was an American writer and historian. He wrote many books, including stories for young people. He was also an antiquarian, which means he loved and studied old things. Robins was the 14th president of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. This society works to preserve and share the history of Pennsylvania.

About His Life

Edward Robins was born in Pau, a town in France. He was the only child of Gertrude Fisher and Edward Robins. His father worked on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Edward grew up and went to school in Philadelphia. He attended the Broad Street Military College.

Robins started his career as a journalist in 1883. He first worked in Kansas City. In 1884, he moved to the Philadelphia Public Ledger newspaper. He stayed there until 1897. At the newspaper, he became the editor for dramatic and music news. This meant he wrote about plays and music.

After leaving the newspaper, Robins spent his time writing books. He also dedicated himself to the activities of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. He loved learning about and sharing history.
